YOP Bike Fit

What is a Bike Fit?

Kate at YOP offers a professional bike fit service that optimises a cyclist's position on their bike to improve comfort, performance, and prevent injury by aligning the bike to their body's unique anatomy. The process involves an assessment of your cycling position, your body and goals, analysis of your pedalling mechanics, and subsequent adjustments to bike components like saddle height, handlebar position, and stem length.

What Happens During a Bike Fit?

Kate will discuss your cycling history, goals, and any physical issues. She may perform a physical assessment to understand your flexibility and body type.

  • Analysis:

Kate will observe and analyse your position and pedalling on a static trainer.

  • Adjustment:

Based on the analysis, Kate will make adjustments to your bike, such as:

    • Saddle height, fore/aft position, and tilt

    • Handlebar height, reach, and rotation

    • Cleat position on the shoes

    • Stem length and angle

  • Adaptation:

After the fit, you will need time to ride and allow your body to adapt to the new position, a follow-up to make any further adjustments may be necessary.
